Beyond War: PRESS RELEASE
| Home | Last |

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - - - 2010 July 9th

We are switching to a new format to highlight some of the changes and developments in the Beyond War online game and related properties. Due to increased competition claims, U.S. political tax practices, and likely renewal of the 55% estate tax and new taxes on intellectual properties under ad valorem (8% or more for Oklahoma Corporations engaged in software development), Shadowdancers L.L.C. has opted that Raccoon Technologies Incorporated act as distributor of the "Beyond War" product.

This separation will permit Beyond War to be hosted in any country that offers a suitable tax strategy for the parent firm (Shadowdancers L.L.C.), should the United States Federal or State economy collapse or seek to violate the 4th Amendment through unlawful claim of royalty on software - as proposed by The State of Oklahoma in AT&T v Oklahoma (2010).

New developments in U.S. law, such as IRS Section 181, provide a $15 million annual Federal Tax break for media developers but has not been signed into law despite passing both the house and senate successfully this year. This would renew the 2009 use of Section 181 to insure investors in multimedia projects against serious losses for remaining in the United States.

Repeal of the estate tax (a high tax on physical property) may impact U.S. investors of Shadowdancers L.L.C. and accordingly force the firm to raise money for distribution via a stock offer held by Raccoon Technologies Incorporated (est 2009 May).

Regardless of the outcome, Beyond War is still scheduled to release to a limited audience in 2010, now that the official Windows 7 product is being distributed and PC graphics capabilities support the scope of technologies required for consumer application and use of Beyond War visualization.

Prior this, barriers and major problems in Microsoft Vista including sound and task management for 32-bit versus 64-bit media applications posed serious issues to Beyond War development, stalling activity from 2007-2009 due to the changes in consumer equipment and failure of Windows Vista to achieve market penetration. Advents in technology including SATA 3.0, PCI-express 2.0, USB 3.0, and multi-core cost-effective platforms for distributed applications in consumer computers were major barriers. Predictions in breakthrough releases in 2007 including the Phenom II and multi-core VPU architecture, integrated cpu memory controller, and high-speed public broadbnd were all premature - largely due to major management failures in the market, the sale of ATI and resulting loss of competition in the market, cost-cutting decisions by AMD to offset the $300 million expense of that acquisition, and competitive cost-prohibitive introduction of Intel i7 technology supported by Apple volume purchases.

Despite these trends, the market is now positioned to operate systems which will support the complex Beyond War architecture adn security model, visualization, and technology. Hardware support for tessellation in DirectX11 chipsets, HDR lighting, 3 and 4-way SLI and crossfire system technology for precision antialiasing, and distributed core density were key factors.

Gaming "in the cloud" as predicted by the Beyond War Project in 1996, is soon to be a reality. Aided also by technologies like ATI Hydravision and multi-monitor 3D device support available in Microsoft Windows 7 with ATI hardware. Projects proposed and outlined in early specification documents of the Beyond War Project for the Beyond War game in 1997-1999. With the termination of "Bilski" in Supreme Court ruling, the legal threat of proceeding with these technologys without fear of "method patent trolling" present from 1999-2010 finally allows Beyond War the capability to demonstrate its unique approach to 3D space and simulation wargaming.
