The "Beyond War Universe" is driven by the natural motivations of species who were bred for war during an intergalactic conflict that subsided suddenly and without evidence of any clear victor.

Billions of genosapiens were mass produced and launched against natural species in an attempt to wrest control of planets and stars without destroying them.

The conflict escalated to a point of mass destruction and wholesale war between species whose sole genetically engineered purpose was the annihilation of their designated enemy. Suddenly the conflict (and combatants) vanished - this event was known as "The Cataclysm" (1991).

This Cataclysm resulted in a span of peace and settlement by the survivors. Civilizations were born of warriors stranded on remote outposts with no natural enemies. Many forgot their origins in the centuries that followed and the war seemed but a memory.

Discovery of lost technology by younger generations - too naive to remember why it was hidden or what had come before - launched the fledgling offspring of these species back into the void.

Optimistic, expectant, hopeful... they have no idea what waits for them. Whether the Universe ends in fire again is up to them, but most of them haven't a clue as to why it did before or what waits for them in the darkness like a hungry monster.
