"I, Insect... Bioweapon X"

Genosapien Bioweapon: Insect-based organic killing machines.

"Bug-Eyed Monsters" So terrible was the Leupous - Dracos - Sanguine escalation that a new level of horror was bound to be released. A bio-weapon capable of assimilating all fuel and resources in its path, then killing itself off too. Notably this race had to face full grown Dracos and hordes of Leupos, and metabolize unstable mutagenic viruses of Sanguine origin.

The Genosect did all this and more. Based on an insect genetic model, the Genosect absorb pre-programmed genotype targets - ignoring non-combatant life in a ravenous search to exterminate all hostile species on a world. They share a common communication organ, and are capable of 'sharing' their 'individualism' before or at the point of death (mind transfer). Due to this 'sharing' some races describe their sense of purpose and selflessness as a 'group mind'.

Normally the Genosect self-destructed after accomplishing their 'goal', but apparently in the end of the Cataclysm some hives were given "take and hold" orders as supplies of their creator races ran thin. As a result, huge hives survived the Cataclysm and even seek to co-exist with nearby races that do not violate their old 'hive directives'.

Due their nature, despite their notably high intelligence, they are very slow to research or pursue 'hard technology' nor "evolve" if not roused to do so by threat to the 'Directive'. Rumors persist that the Genosect are simply laying dormant, waiting for orders to attack. Occasional raids reinforce this premise, although no one knows if these are new Genosect remnants or mutations from existing 'peaceful' hives.
