Kai'Gi - - - (Kie Gee')
"A Mystery's mystery"

Humans who retained pre-Cataclysm technology and treat it like sorcery.

The Kai'Gi are virtually identical to the Hue-Monn race externally, but they have made massive use of nanotechnology and genetic engineering. Their resemblance to the Hue-Monn species is a choice, not a consequence of genetic selection. Their technology permits them to appear to perform magic, seemingly breaking the laws of physics in blatant displays of power. They prefer to style themselves after magicians to disguise their methods from other species and encourage a sense of 'mystery' to the Universe.

This practice both dulls the inquisitive nature of other species and endears their presence and wishes into more technically primitive cultures without disrupting their development. The Kai'Gi often make contact with primitive cultures in an attempt to provide guidance and support for their culture. The species is almost exclusively a Guardian race. Rebel factions do exist, but very few are permitted to operate for long without answer. Kai'Gi lifespan is not as long as the Elan, despite their superior ability to recover from injury or illness. It is thought that the Kai'Gi choose to age, despite having access to technology similar to the Elan.
